Hello!

What a fabulous start to the show! The read-through was so much fun – hearing the big swings and bold and hilarious choices people are already making! Can't wait to see what's next!

Below, please find the schedule for our next rehearsal, as well as other info (mostly repeated from last time to be sure folks saw it).

The show website now has downloadable PDFs of the music. Please print copies for yourself if you need and are able. We will provide copies for anyone who needs on Sunday.

Also, please be sure to submit any conflicts (see below) if you haven't yet done so. The more notice we have, the better. Please and thanks!

And thank you to everyone who has joined as an R2Patron. We know that not every family budget allows for it, but if you can do $5/month to become an R2Patron, it really does help.

SHOW WEBSITE:
Your home for everything SpongeBob SquarePants the Musical. is:

The website is password protected since it will have details of who will be where and when, and this information is not for anyone outside of our process. Please do not share this info. We recommend bookmarking the show page, but you also can find it on the R2P website under Events > Shows > SpongeBob > [Company Member Login] or from the dropdown menu once you're logged into your R2P user account. (We'll go over ALL of this stuff at the first rehearsal!)

A note about how we write out detailed rehearsal schedules...

  • We will write what time the block is, what is being covered, and who is called for that block
  • We might sometimes say: FULL CAST (minus _____) – with the name of the cast member(s) NOT called in that block in place of the blank.
  • When it is not a FULL CAST block, we will list each cast member's name in alphabetical order. For example: “1:00 PM to 2:15 PM: Act 1, Scene 1 with Joey: ALBUS, BERNICE, CARLTON” Those would be the only people who need to attend that particular block.
  • If the block is not listed as FULL CAST and your name is not listed, you DO NOT need to attend that block.
  • If the block says "FULL CAST" – yup, that means you. ;)

*NOTE: On Sundays, sometimes folks will be here over the dinner break (usually from 5:00-5:45pm). No one may leave the building for dinner break without parental permission. Anyone who leaves must be with a buddy and sign out listing a specific destination and a phone number to be reached at. The group that leaves together must also return together – no one gets left behind. please discuss with your family your dinner plan ahead of time.

A few more things about dinner break:

It's BYO - we don't provide meals or snacks, so please plan accordingly. There is a fridge and microwave at the JBCC. Families are welcome to pickup their cast members for dinner, but that's not required at all. You don't need to sign out if a parent/legal guardian is with you. Pete's is just across the street (burgers and snacks) and a great pizza place is now open next door! Discuss among your family your level of comfort with crossing streets, etc. without adult chaperones.

CONFLICTS:
Remember that rehearsals typically fall on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. Not everyone will be called for every hour of every day — we will only call who we need to work with on a given day. If you have any conflicts, please let us know by clicking here and submitting them on that form ASAP. You can update your conflicts any time by logging into your R2P user account.

Please remember that saying you have a conflict does not automatically mean we can accommodate it without an impact. This is after all, a quick and intense rehearsal process and many numbers will be devised with the bodies at rehearsal. We cannot guarantee that people who miss rehearsals for a number will be able to be plugged into it. We respectfully ask that you change any conflicts that you are able to.

SCRIPT & MUSIC:
You can view/download the script in Full-Page and "2-Up" formatting (with two pages per page to use 50% less paper when printing!) These materials are also linked on the SpongeBob show website (password: krabs).

We encourage folks to print their own materials if possible – we will provide copies for anyone who needs them, however. You also can get familiar with the music by listening to the original Broadway cast recording for free on YouTube here. (Note there are some big differences between the recording and the script/score – it's still useful for getting to know the show.)

COVID PROTOCOLS:
This is a reminder that we will be requiring masks during rehearsals. More information about our protocols are listed on our SpongeBob show website.

R2P LOGIN:
If you haven't already created your R2P login account, you can do that here. You will be prompted to create a username and password. Once logged in, you'll be able to update your contact info, enter your costume info (if you haven't already), upload your head-to-toe photo by selecting "Update My Profile" from the "What would you like to do?" menu, and more.

And finally...

R2PATRONS
R2P is totally FREE. Free for students to participate – and now free for everyone to attend our shows. We didn't make this change because we suddenly struck it rich. (Believe me, we didn't. ?‍♂️) Rather, we decided it was critical to our mission to make live theatre accessible to every person in our community. This won't be easy for us, but it was important and right. And we're asking for help.

We're asking anyone who can chip in $5/month to become an R2Patron. Like NPR: the content is offered free, but when people who are able to contribute do so, everyone gets access to a level playing field.

Thank you for reading through all that information. And thanks for being part of R2P! Wishing good health and good times to you and yours. Looking forward to seeing you soon!
